(1) Soft Topic: This is conducted by Sam-san.
Two years ago, the Japanese English Education system changed to focus on speaking & writing. However, this new system had bad results such as over 60% of students getting 0 points(mark) on a recent test due to a lack of ALT teachers.
In addition, please refer the attached materials which show in detail, the recent situation of education in Japan and Japanese English teachers’ speaking levels, and then,start discussion.
Q1:Will only increasing the number of ALT resolve Japanese English education problems ?
(2) Hard Topic: This is conducted by Corson-san.
TEPCO has completed construction of facilities for the discharge of treated water from the
Power plant. The plan is to release the treated water, after diluting it with seawater, through an undersea tunnel constructed about 1kilometer offshore from the plant, over a period of about 30 years. The inspection of the facilities by the NRA has been completed. The IAEA, which has carried out investigations at Japan’ s request, has assessed the release method and facilities as appropriate in six previous reports.
Qi.: Why does the Chinese government oppose the discharge of treated water, although IAEA has assessed the release method and facilities?
Q2:: Why did the Chinese government prohibit the import of marine products from Japan, which means bullying the weak without attaching TEPCO ?
Q3: Why does the Chinese government avoid technical discussion?
Q4: What kinds of countermeasures should the Japanese government take to help Japanese sea industries other than paying money? Such as establish a day for eating scallops, encourage Japanese to buy scallops much more and etc.
